We left Chicago over 1 hour late, making us very glad 1) that we hung out in the lounge until boarding and 2) that we had left plenty of time before the train to Dijon. The flight was fine otherwise.
It took over an hour to get through immigration, collect Chris' bag and get to the train. We got to Gare du Nord, switched lines to Gare de Lyon, and after some searching found the left luggage and stored our bags.
We ate lunch at an unremarkable cafe near the station then took a small walk. We headed back to the station and looked for the left luggage. And looked. And looked. And asked an Information desk worker who confirmed every stereotype of Parisiennes, including being unhelpful. We found it at last, 10 minutes before our train and amongst a great deal of swearing (me). We hustled to the track and made It in time - whew!
One more heartattack moment - the conductor could not scan our tickets. Turned out to be a technical issue.
After that, it was smooth sailing.
The Tourisme office was super helpful, our hotel is cute, and dinner was delicious. We went to Le Escargot, and split everything: escargots, salad with Epoisses croutons, tourte bourgignonne, bouef bourgignonne, cheese, and an almond tart. YUM.
